Data Processing
A plain-language summary of how we process data when you use Airfree Maps. Where you send us personal data to process (for example, addresses to geocode), this describes our commitments.
Roles
For data you submit to the APIs to be processed on your instructions (such as addresses or coordinates), you are the data controller and Airfree Geospatial Pty Ltd (ABN 35 698 093 239) acts as a processor. For your own account and billing data, we are the controller — see the Privacy Policy.
What we process & why
- Request inputs (e.g. an address to geocode, coordinates to route) — processed only to return the result you asked for.
- Operational metadata (API key, timestamps, usage counts) — to authenticate, meter, rate-limit and bill.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use the contents of your API requests to build advertising profiles.
Data location & sub-processing
The platform is operated on Airfree-controlled infrastructure in Australia. We run our own map, geocoding and routing engines rather than forwarding your requests to a third-party map provider, which keeps the set of sub-processors small. Where sub-processors are used (for example, infrastructure), we remain responsible for their handling of data. A current list is available on request.
Security, retention & your rights
- Security measures are described on the security page.
- We retain operational metadata as needed to run and bill the service; request inputs are not retained beyond what is needed to serve and (where applicable) meter the request.
- You can request access, correction or deletion of personal data, and a formal Data Processing Agreement for contracts that need one.
