Acceptable Use Policy

This draft sets out how the Airfree Maps APIs and services may and may not be used. It applies alongside the Terms of Service.

Draft. This document is being prepared and is not yet a binding agreement. It is provided in good faith as a plain-language summary. For the current terms that apply to your account, contact legal@airfree.au.

Use the service fairly

  • Keep within your plan’s quotas and rate limits; see rate limits. Do not attempt to evade metering or limits.
  • Keep your API keys confidential and server-side where possible; you are responsible for usage on your keys.
  • Do not resell or redistribute raw tiles, geocoding results or datasets except as the licence and your plan permit.

Respect data licences

  • Display the required attribution wherever you show our maps or data.
  • Honour the OpenStreetMap ODbL, including share-alike where you create a derivative database. Bulk dataset export is share-alike gated — see licensing.

Do not

  • Use the service for anything unlawful, or to infringe others’ rights or privacy.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
  • Use the service to build a competing bulk copy of the underlying map database outside the licence terms.
  • Misuse location or routing results in ways that endanger people or breach applicable law.

Enforcement

We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access that breaches this policy, with notice where practical. Report abuse or ask questions at abuse@airfree.au. See also the Terms of Service.
